Teen Invisalign

Teenagers who want straight teeth and beautiful smiles no longer have to wear unsightly metal braces to get them. Teens feel most confident about their smiles during treatment because Teen Invisalign® is virtually undetectable. Teen Invisalign® allows teenagers to fix their imperfect teeth using a series of clear trays, called “aligners” which slowly move their teeth in the right position. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® aligners are comfortable and removable for eating, drinking and brushing. With locations in Crestview, Pensacola, Mary Esther and Santa Rosa Beach, Comfort Dental Care and Orthodontics is equipped with the training and resources necessary to provide Teen Invisalign® to area teenagers.

Teen Invisalign® uses clear aligner trays – changed out every few weeks – to gradually alter your smile. Teens prefer this because metal braces and brackets can be uncomfortable and difficult to maintain. Each tray is customized to each patient so that they are both comfortable and appealing.

As opposed to having your metal braces tightened every month, Teen Invisalign®patients will receive a new set of trays every 10 to 14 days. Each new set is designed to move a patient’s teeth a little more than the previous tray so as to gradually shift teeth into the proper position. While undergoing treatment, patients should expect to have these trays in their mouth for at least 22 hours a day – only taking them out for eating, drinking, brushing your teeth and cleaning the trays. Thanks to Invisalign® Teen, teenagers never need to worry about avoiding foods that might damage their metal brackets, and won’t run the risk of cutting their lips on braces during sports or otherwise.

Teen Invisalign® is a great way for teenagers to quickly, effectively and discreetly straighten their teeth. Some of the issues Teen Invisalign®can fix are:

  • Issues with bite patterns
  • Tooth gaps
  • Protruding teeth
  • Crooked or misaligned teeth
  • A smile that is overcrowded

When you follow the instructions, Teen Invisalign®aligners are just as effective as traditional metal braces in terms of changing common alignment issues. Most teenagers who are self-conscious about their smile are great candidates for Invisalign® Teen, as it can be used to treat moderate to severe cases of overcrowding, underbites, overbites, gaps between teeth and more.

While metal braces and brackets have the potential to be unsightly and uncomfortable, Teen Invisalign®aligners are much easier to use and maintain. Common maintenance concerns with braces – such as damaging them during sports, feeling discomfort during certain school activities, as well as playing musical instruments – will no longer be a problem. Furthermore, all Teen Invisalign® patients will be able to enjoy foods that might have damaged metal brackets: apples, raw carrots, stick candy, popcorn and more. Brushing and flossing are instantly made easier, as patients need only to take out the trays to accomplish these tasks.

Various studies have proven that a bad smile can adversely affect a teenager’s self-confidence. To that end Teen Invisalign®mcan correct a teenager’s smile without unsightly metal brackets and allow them to avoid any self-consciousness during the course of their orthodontic treatment plan.

Many teenagers suffer from “erupting” or erupted permanent dentition, a condition that in most cases can be treated with Invisalign® aligners. To make sure you are a candidate for this kind of treatment, it is important that you meet with your orthodontist to evaluate your case. If you are not identified as a candidate, you will likely want to seek a second opinion, as every provider has different levels of experience dealing with Invisalign® aligners.

Treatment time is different for every patient and depends on the severity of his or her malocclusion. The average treatment time for Teen Invisalign® is about the same or less than that of traditional metal braces.

While aligners can be easily taken out on a whim, teenagers will get the best results if they wear them at least 22 hours a day. Every tray comes with a blue “indicator” that alerts the orthodontist to how long a patient wears his or her aligner each day.

If a teenager loses his or her aligner, Teen Invisalign®will be happy to replace up to six free trays per patient. You should contact your orthodontist immediately if a tray is lost, as leaving them out for even a short period of time can impact your total treatment plan.

Typically, Teen Invisalign® patients spend much less time at the orthodontist’s office than those who have metal braces. This is due to the fact that without the constant repairs and adjustments that come with metal braces, Teen Invisalign® patients only need to schedule a short appointment with their orthodontist every 4-to-6 weeks.

Cost depends on the Teen Invisalign® treatment required. In addition to accepting payment by cash, check or credit card, we have outside financing available through CareCredit® and OrthoBanc® for those who need to make payments over a longer period of time.
